The Challenge
A homeowner of an early 1900’s house faced high utility costs, discomfort, and noise issues due to a lack of wall insulation. The house had plaster interior walls and hard ceramic-like tiles on the exterior, making traditional insulation methods impractical. The homeowner needed a solution to insulate the walls without removing the plaster interior, preserving the home’s historical integrity.
Gateway RetroFoam provided a solution by installing RetroFoam insulation from the exterior. This method avoided interior demolition and was perfectly timed with the homeowner’s plan to install new vinyl siding two weeks later. After identifying the lack of insulation, Gateway RetroFoam drilled small access points in the exterior tiles to inject RetroFoam, sealing these points afterward and readying the exterior for new siding.
Gateway RetroFoam’s exterior insulation solution led to improved temperature regulation, lower utility bills, and reduced external noise. Also, it preserved the home’s historical character and plaster walls, aligning with the installation of new vinyl siding.
What the Customer Had to Say:
“We had Shawn and his crew out to our home in Hermann last Sunday. The job they did was beyond amazing. Our home is over 100 years old. Not a stitch of insulation. We have been looking for an efficient and cost-effective way to insulate the home and Gateway RetroFoam IS IT! Shawn came out, quoted an extremely reasonable price on a Thursday afternoon, and by Sunday, my home went from nothing to the best thing that’s ever happened to it.
The reduction in outside noise was immediately noticeable. If you are finding yourself searching for home insulation, call Shawn at Gateway RetroFoam. He is very prompt in answering my questions. They are quick and professional. I 1000% recommend these guys. Thank you Shawn and your crew for a job well done!”
