Shawn, the owner, and his crew were amazing. They were professional and respectful of our property, cleaning up as they worked and even helping to move some of our belongings. Despite our 30-year-old siding, you can’t tell where they removed and replaced it. Shawn explained everything in detail before and during the process, showing us how they checked the walls before filling them. Gateway RetroFoam LLC worked tirelessly, 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, insulating our villa’s exterior walls. We will definitely keep an eye on the energy usage during the next year to measure improvement. Maggie looks forward to a warmer kitchen in winter, cooler in summer. They did a great job cleaning up during and after blowing in the insulation. Everyone working was pleasant, approachable, and knowledgable, answering any questions we had. Great job guys!
I just had RetroFoam installed Wednesday. Shawn and his crew were great. They arrived when he said he would and went right to work. He and his crew were very nice, polite, and worked very hard. I think that day was the hottest day of the week, but they never stopped working. After the job was finished, Shawn looked over the whole house to make sure everything was done and things were put back correctly. The crew made sure everything was cleaned up. Shawn showed me everything they did and explained how it was done and asked if I had any questions. If you need insulation, Gateway is the company to call for honest and good people. I’ve had RetroFoam since October. As the temperature outside has gotten colder, my home has been comfortable. Even during the minus zero temperatures in January, my home has been warm and the furnace rarely runs. My electric bill for January stated I’m using 28% less energy than last year. I highly recommend RetroFoam to anyone needing this upgrade to their home
After trying USA Insulation, they weren’t able to do the job because our house is brick veneer and there are cement blocks on inner with brick on outer the veneer part. I called Sean at Gateway RetroFoam explained to him how the house was built after 20 mins on the phone thinking it be the same he backtracked and said if your telling me the house is brick veneer I have a solution to insulation given us a quote over the phone . His sales guy came out verified that the house indeed can be insulated and was set up with spire program where they pay up to 5000 and add that to your monthly payment for five years . House was insulated couple days ago right away the thermostat was set at 70 from 75 because it was finally insulated and the house was keeping the temperature at comfortable degree. You might wonder why we just don’t leave it at 70 to begin with . Having a brick on brick home with no insulation drops the room temperature drastically along with north walls of the house along with a 5 degree differences in the zones of the house being at 70 would make the bedrooms 65 degrees . So 75 in fall winter 70 in heat of summer. My dad had the Cadillac HVAC system installed 13,000 for Trane Furnace @ Air Conditioning unit two years ago along with universal windows all new upstairs around 10,000 plus therma doors installed only thing at that time was lowered the electric bill from 300 plus a month to 120 . Going forward I’m sure the utilities will drop even lower beings the furnace hardly runs now that gateway retro foam taken that 20 min call and given the time of day to explain what possibly can be done. It felt like living in a cardboard box them days are over now that the home has been insulated. Thank you Sean and you’re team for the professional expertise you given to my father and I of having Years experience as well under your belt means a lot than a company starting out with little to no experience. Shawn came out and looked over the issue we have had with our pipes freezing. Because of the layout of the addition where the issue is happening, Shawn let me know that RetroFoam may not be the best solution. He was very honest and gave me some great advice on how to address the issue. Would highly recommend to friends and family.
We used RetroFoam for injection insulation on our 1918 farmhouse, which was drafty and left us with large heating bills each month. Shawn and his team were professional, knowledgeable, and responsive from start to finish. His crew removed sections of our alluminum siding, injected foam insulation into the framing shafts and did a great job with cleanup. The process was detailed oriented and extremely clean and quick – we can’t say enough good things! Highly recommend. We also felt great about working directly with the owner, Shawn.
